How does God reveal Himself to a person? He knew each of us, before He knitted us in our mother's womb. He formed and fashioned us to become His children by adoption. Within each one, He set a spark of life and an awareness of eternity.
Now, through the gift of free will, that image can be damaged, the awareness dulled, and the spark extinguished even before given a chance to flame. And it is also through that gift of free will, we can become ever more aware of eternity in the present, and fan that spark into a flame. Each new day we choose to fan the flame, or choose to put it out.
